Mahesh is a Nepalese visual artist who was born in 1973. Growing up in the Western part of Nepal has meant that Mahesh’s paintings are strongly influenced by Nepalese Culture, templescapes, and Himalayan landscapes. Though his pieces have diversified over the years, all of Mahesh’s artworks evoke a deep connection and portrayal of nature and man residing in the same space. The Bhaktapur paintings are his statement pieces, and what first founded his recognition in the art community. Mahesh often experiments with his mediums, as he transitions between canvas to handmade Nepali paper, and Himalayan Birch paper. His pieces are quiet yet powerful portrayals of Nepalese culture. For the last five years, Mahesh’s signature style has been to create bold statement pieces showcasing his love for colour and vibrancy – encapsulating sceneries of Nepal in abstract. We are proud to represent Mahesh at THE ASIAN ART GALLERY and we look forward to seeing what he has in store for us in the future.
